Coast General Insurance Brokers is an insurance brokerage entirely dedicated to business owners. Our agency’s purpose is to partner with our business clients to maintain a pulse on their risks as the business evolves. We match Property and Casualty products and help mitigate claims. Our agency has a dedicated team for Commercial Insurance as well as a team dedicated to Health and Wellness benefits for any size company.

Brenda _ Blackjacket

Brenda Allison, MBA

CEO & Broker

Brenda Allison founded Allison Commercial Insurance Agency, Inc. after successfully launching another agency still running in Ventura County. She started both agencies from "scratch." Quickly she focused her expertise on becoming a Business Insurance Specialist helping business owners manage their everyday risks and overcome the unexpected. In 2007, Allison Commercial Insurance Agency, Inc. acquired longtime friends and collaborators, Coast General Insurance Brokers, and has grown year over year since.

Fun Fact:Won a fishing contest at 8 years – which could be why now she loves to deep sea fish.

Education

Ms. Allison earned a Bachelors' of Science in Urban and Public Affairs and her Master's in Business Administration in Marketing. She earned her Health Insurance Professional (HIP) designation in 2010 and her Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS) designation in 2011.

Ms. Allison lives in Camarillo with her children- Caroline, Charlotte, Charles, and her husband, Rotarian and Past President, Thomas J. "Hutch" Hutchinson. They enjoy travel, music, volunteering, family game nights, and reading as a family.

Angelina Lopez

As the Director of Operations, Angelina oversees and manages the agency's daily operations, ensuring our daily outcomes align with the Company's mission and goals.  

Angelina joined Coast General Insurance Brokers in 2003 and has specialized in Commercial Insurance ever since. She enjoys coming to the office every day and helping our clients manage their insurance needs.   The most rewarding part of Angelina's job is getting to the finish line of her most challenging projects.   The gratitude from her clients and colleagues makes it all worth it. 

Fun Fact: Coast General Insurance Brokers was Angelina's first job while still in High School. She loved her job so much she made it her career and hasn't looked back since.  

Family: Angelina, a lifelong Ventura County resident, lives in Oxnard with her husband and three daughters. They spend most of their time on the softball fields as a family.

Gina is responsible for working with her direct team to ensure our existing longtime clients are adequately insured.    She is detail-oriented and takes pride in providing the client's requirements are met accurately and on time.  

In her 15+ years with the agency, her favorite part of the job is building and maintaining relationships with clients.

Chuck Kiskaden, President of Health Benefit Advisors, Inc and ACA expert consultant to our clients. As an Affordable Care Act expert and Corporate Benefits Broker specializing in ACA Compliant Medical Plans for California and Multi-state employers of all sizes, Chuck will review and analyze current employee benefits and then present options to make them better.

He is always working to meet or exceed customers’ needs.

Lia joined the agency in 2015. She began her role with Coast General Insurance Brokers in the New Business Sales Department and has merged into our Customer Retention- Renewal team. 

Coming from an engineering background, Lia decided to build herself a career in the insurance industry to support and grow her family. Lia believes in providing consistent, quality, and transparent service to her clients. She is gratified by the trust she receives from clients. Lia started with the team in an entry-level position. She quickly rose to an Account Manager position, where she brought her engineering background into play behind the scenes with formulas and processes.

Fun Fact: Lia loves to dance to salsa music.

AHIP Certified Agent 

Adonis joined the agency in 2017 as a Benefits Software Analyst – he brought our clients and team up to full speed with online benefits integration and enrollment. Adonis, coming from a Mechanical Engineering background, is detail-oriented with numbers and enjoys helping our clients and their employees navigate their Medical benefits. Since joining our team, Adonis now manages our Life & Health department. Adonis and his team provide enrollment and support in multiple languages. He defines his success by integrity and creating long-lasting relations with clients and business partners. 

As a current member of the Ventura County Association of Health Underwriters, Adonis stays up to date with legislative updates and can pass this information to our clients. Adonis' team provides compliance guidance and recommendations to our clients throughout the year.

Melisa Nusbaum

Melisa has been with the team since 2020, coming from 15+ years of industry experience. Melisa has worked on the carrier side and broker side. Melisa loves that you never stop learning in the insurance industry, and she gets to pass on that knowledge to clients. Her favorite line of business to write is Workers Compensation. Melisa feels she achieves success in her role by using the resources we have in place, such as the opportunity to approach many markets, the technology we have, and her colleagues' expertise

Fun Fact: In her spare time, Melisa is a Girl Scout Troop leader where she has been leading the same group of young girls for 6+ years. She has enjoyed watching them learn and mature into young women.

Yvette joined our team in 2020;  she felt a connection with the team and knew this was where she needed to be. Yvette works closely with the team to ensure the customer service experience is top-notch.   Yvettes defines a successful day as "getting to the end of my daily to-do list and ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently."  

Yvette enjoys working with our clients and their employees; she finds gratitude in helping them navigate their insurance benefits; it reminds her that she is here FOR THE PEOPLE.  

In her time, Yvette enjoys spending quality time with her family; they enjoy music, food, gatherings, and most of all, arts and crafts and the beach with her son.    

Fun Fact: Yvette practiced the art of Tae Kwon Do and is a 2nd Degree black belt.

Fabiola Ramirez

Administrative Assistant 

Fabiola joined Coast General Insurance Brokers in 2021 as the team's Front Desk support personnel and Administrative Assistant. Since joining the agency, Fabiola has shown her dedication to the Company and our clients by consistently providing outstanding, well-organized customer service.    

Fabiola is currently an accounting major at Cal State Northridge and an active reserve in the Air National Guard. The experience Fabiola brings from her education and reserve duties is precise and effective.
