Oxnard-Based Insurance Brokerage Firm CEO to Speak During National Industry Event in Washington, D.C.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – A trailblazing business insurance specialist and entrepreneur has joined the speakers’ lineup for Q4Live, a premier industry conference taking place in Washington, D.C. Brenda Allison, CEO of Coast General Insurance Brokers, will draw on over 20 years of success as she shares the traits and tools of good leadership.Q4Live is a national networking conference put on by Q4intelligence (Q4i), a business, sales, and marketing consulting firm that helps insurance agencies reach their potential. The conferences are geared at helping business owners grow leads, run more efficiently, boost their leadership capabilities, and expand their business. Participants attending this year’s Q4Live will have the privilege of learning from a Ventura County professional who has demonstrated not just professional success, but who has contributed tirelessly to the community.
Allison acquired the Oxnard-based Coast General Insurance Brokers in 2007, merging the longtime firm with one she had previously founded. The former marketing executive learned she had a passion for ensuring businesses received the very best risk management solutions – so they in turn could focus their energies on what mattered most. As Allison grew her firm – today it has nine brokers – she drew upon lessons she learned from her grandmother, who arrived in 1966 from Cuba to Detroit, Michigan, on a bitterly cold day. “My grandmother was so tenacious, I learned so much watching her,” Allison said. “It’s amazing to think about where I am today, compared to where my family was not long ago, arriving from Cuba with next to nothing. I’m thrilled to share what others selflessly showed me, and things I’ve learned along the way.”
Allison has long championed the success of other women, spending several years on the board of the Women’s Economic Ventures, which named her their Trailblazer in 2020. She also spent years in service through the Rotary Club of Ventura, which named her the 2021 Rotarian of the Year. She serves on the board for Casa Pacifica, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of children and families and is the past chair of Latinos in Business at the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce. Allison also founded the Cuban Culture Club of Ventura.Q4Life encourages brokers to #ReThinkEverything.
Allison will focus her remarks on Leadership, teasing her talk this way: “When you change the way you look at planning, you create a plan that changes everything.” Coast General Insurance Brokers, which started in 1977, provides insurance and non-insurance solutions to businesses in various industries, especially in agriculture, construction and transportation.
