Brenda Allison, CEO of Coast General Insurance Brokers and a dedicated community advocate has been honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Rotary Club of Ventura.

A Rotarian since 2005, Allison has served in multiple roles at the Ventura club over the past two decades, including as service director, membership director, risk management support and community service director. She is currently the club’s treasurer, a position she’s held since November 2023.

As a major donor to the organization, Allison has donated over $10,000 to support the club’s philanthropic activities, which include a wide range of local and international initiatives benefiting youth, global health, the environment and economic development.

Allison has volunteered on numerous Rotary projects including Coats for Kids, the Rotary Backpack project, Rotary At Work Day, Interact Club at Pacific High School, the Rotary Dictionary Project and as a coordinator of the Ventura Rotary 4th of July Fireworks Show. Her support for international efforts includes helping organize events and fundraisers for World Polio Day and traveling to India in 2017 to vaccinate children and support health workers.

Beyond her work with the Rotary Club, Allison has long been active in many other community organizations and causes. She is a regular keynote speaker at an annual camp for foster girls in Santa Barbara County and at nonprofit events across California. She founded the Cuban Culture Club of Ventura County and has held leadership roles with Casa Pacifica and Women’s Economic Ventures.

Brenda Allison has led Coast General Insurance Brokers in Oxnard since 2007. The company offers both insurance and non-insurance solutions to businesses in various industries, especially in agriculture, construction and transportation. Allison previously founded and grew the successful firm Allison Commercial Insurance, before acquiring Coast General and merging the two companies into a unified firm that has since grown to encompass a group of nine brokerages. The Pacific Coast Business Times has named Coast General Insurance Brokers the top Minority-Owned Business, and recognized Allison as among the Who’s Who in Health Care, Insurance and Life Sciences.
